Easter with The Commons!
We are a community of hope. And that hope centers on the resurrection of Jesus Christ: entering, and defeating, death on our behalf. As followers of Jesus, it is this hope that we celebrate on the journey from Palm Sunday, through Good Friday, and on to Easter.
"Holy Week" with The Commons:
3.29.2015 - Palm Sunday
At our "Gathering" on Sunday, March 29th, we remember and celebrate the coming of Jesus to Jerusalem in both glory and humility: the Savior of the world, beginning his journey toward the cross showered in the praises of his people, riding on a donkey. Meekness and majesty, profoundly woven together in this, our self-giving, savior king.
We will be meeting at the Rochester Middle School - 47 Brock St. - at 10:30am for this time of worship, remembrance and time in community.
4.3.2015 - Good Friday
As the journey toward the great hope of Easter leads us through the valley of the shadow of the cross, we will be joining together with our brothers and sisters at the First Congregational Church of Barrington ( https://fccbnh.wordpress.com ) for our "Good Friday" service this year.
This will be a time for reflection in community upon the path of Jesus to and through the cross; the ultimate expression of his great love for us. We will have some time to participate together in the Stations of the Cross, join together in worship, and hear a brief pastoral meditation from the gospels. Sure to be a powerful and meaningful time, we look forward to all that God will speak and do in our midst in and through this offering.
The service will begin at 6:45pm at the First Congregational Church of Barrington, 710 Franklin Pierce Highway, Barrington.
4.5.2015 - Easter Sunday
Our journey of hope and joy will be realized in the light of Easter morning as we celebrate the savior who not only faced, but defeated death on our behalf. Join us for a time of worship and fellowship, including an appropriately "robust" post-service reception. We would be blessed to have you participate with us in this celebration of life and hope!
