Summer 2015: The Commons, on the move!
While we have enjoyed the regularity of using the Rochester Middle School for our "Gathering" Sunday's for the past year, this summer - and particularly, the next few weeks - we have the chance to move around a bit as a community, experience some different spaces, and reach out to some different neighborhoods. By way of an overview, here's what lies ahead for Summer 2015:
June 28th: Baptism Sunday & Family Picnic
This coming Sunday we have the unique joy and privilege, as a family of faith, of participating in the baptism of a number of folks from The Commons' community. The service of baptism will be held at the waterfront of Camp Fireside (Ayer's Pond) in Barrington*, 10:30am, with a potluck/picnic reception following at the Terrys' Residence, 121 Webber Rd, Strafford, NH. Everyone is invited, so come on down and celebrate with us!
Ayers Pond:

July 5th: Rochester Fairgrounds
On July 5th, in preparation for our forthcoming "Vacation Bible Adventure" to be held a week later, we'll be putting on our "Gathering" at the Rochester Fairgrounds, 10:30am, reaching out to the surrounding neighborhoods beforehand. This will be a great opportunity for bringing worship and witness together in a special way, and in a unique location. Don't miss out!
July 13-16th: Vacation Bible Adventure
On the evenings of July 13-16th, 6-8:30pm at the Rochester Fairgrounds, we'll be putting on our annual summer kid's camp! This year's theme is "Hero Headquarters", and it's sure to be a great time for all, as well as a great opportunity to bless the kids and families of our city. Come on out, bring the kids, bring some friends, even volunteer if you like; just be sure not to miss out on the best week of summer 2015!
July 19th, August 2015: The Commons at "The Castle"!
For July 19th, and for all of August, our "Gathering" Sundays will be held at "The Castle on Charles" (19 Charles St., Rochester), at 10:30am. This was originally an Episcopal church, vacated and used for a number of other purposes since the 1950's, now a multi-use event venue ( www.castlenh.com ). For the first time in 60 years, this sanctuary will be home to a worshipping community. This is a great spot, and we're excited to be here! Be sure and check it out!
August 3-8: Pilgrim Pines Family Camping Week
For those who are interested in joining us, a number of families from The Commons will be heading over to Pilgrim Pines Camp & Conference Center in Swanzey, NH ( pilgrimpines.org ) for a time of rest, fellowship, and good old summer fun during the week of August 3-8th. Whether it's for a day, or the whole week, this is sure to be time well spent, and we look forward to seeing many of you there! Register soon, as space in the campground is limited.
The info for campsite registration can be found here: http://pilgrimpines.org/campground/
